Your Travel Questions, Answered
If you see a trip that interests you, in our Upcoming Adventures section, click on the View Itinerary Button and you will be taken to a document that gives you a detailed itinerary and pricing. You can also find each trip in the Events section of our Facebook Page. If you have any questions about a trip you can also email us at info@thetravelinglucys.com.
In our Upcoming Adventures section you can see all our trips. If you look at the details for each trip there is a link to submit your booking request and deposit. Also, the same link can be found in the itinerary. If you click that button there will be a form to fill out with the information needed to get you a reservation. Some trips require a minimum number of people to book. If that is the case for your trip, we will hold your reservation until the minimum is met and then we will book everyone and charge your deposit. If there is no minimum on the trip, we will book you within 48 hours and charge your deposit. Once your deposit has been taken, you will receive a Welcome to the Trip email along with your invoice showing your deposit payment, the trip balance, payments dates, and terms and conditions.
If there is a trip you have been wanting to take and you would like other Lucys to join you, you can email the admins at info@thetravelinglucys.com and ask that we put together a trip for you to share. We will get group pricing from the vendor, create an itinerary and update the website so your trip can be shared with others. You can also find the trip yourself and share it on our Facebook page, but first you must submit a form for approval to share the trip. We simply want to make sure the trip is with a legitimate vendor and there is no risk to the Lucys. The form is in the files section on the Facebook Page. If you wish, the admins can also add it to the website. We love when our Lucys share!
From time to time we have representatives from tour companies or cruise lines. These events will be posted on the Event section on Facebook. Also in the event is a link to the Google Meet meeting. We ask you to please rsvp to the event so we have an idea how many will be attending. A few days before the event the link will be posted again as well as an hour before the event. Simply click on the Google Meet link to join the presentation.
We understand that traveling solo can be cost prohibitive. We make every effort to get discounted single supplement pricing but it is still better to find a roommate if that is how you would like to travel. The Lucys will not assign you a roommate. We will however provide you with contact information for other Lucys who are looking to share a trip you are interested in. You will communicate directly with that other person and the two of you will decide if you want to share a room on the trip. Then just let us know and we will do the rest!
This depends on the trip, but in most cases the size is between 14 and 20 people. We believe that a group this size is perfect. Not too small, so you can find other link minded buddies on your trip and not too big that it feels overwhelming and hard to get to know anyone.
Not really. The majority of the people on our trips will be 50+ years old. Young children would most likely bored with us so it is advised they do not join us, but if a younger adult is interested in traveling with us they would be more than welcome. It was suggested we have a trip for grandparents and their grandchildren, we would certainly create a trip like that if one was requested, it sounds like fun!
Yes, but only for a very limited number of trips. On this website each trip is notated with whether it is a ladies only trip or a mixed trip. Husbands deserve some fun too!
The founder of The Traveling Lucys, Sue Gould, is a Travel Advisor who does own her own travel agency with Dream Vacations. Having someone who works in the travel industry, running this group, is advantageous because it allows us to set up presentations with tour companies and it allows us to negotiate reduced rates for group travel. If you book a Traveling Lucy trip you will be invoiced from Dream Vacations for the reasons mentioned above. Having someone experienced to set up these trips and travel on these trips with the Lucys is a benefit. And finally, while some of these trips will be booked through Dream Vacations, Sue also strongly requests that other Lucys share their trips. The purpose for our group is to give woman options for travel, be that with other Lucys or through an Lucys specific trip. Sue and her team can also book a personal trip for you if you wish, we are here for you regardless of the type of travel you want to do. Lastly, using a travel agent does NOT increase the price of the trip. All the vendors we use are happy to pay the travel agent for their efforts in setting up a trip, they pay a travel agent or they pay more money in marketing and for their own employees. They feel that taking care of the agents are a win/win for them and they are happy to do so.
