Our “Get Out of the Cold” getaway from January 27 through February 1, 2026, was the perfect escape and a beautiful reminder of how much joy can be packed into just a few days. The Lucy’s headed to Cocoa Beach and settled into the charming Surf Studio Beach Resort, a cozy little hotel right on the beach that quickly felt like home. Between homemade meals, breathtaking sunrises and sunsets, and the thrill of watching multiple SpaceX launches right from our beach chairs, every day felt a little magical. We topped off one memorable evening with dinner and live music at a jazz club, proving that the best vacations always include great food and even better company.

Our adventures kept us smiling from start to finish—taking in a performance of Hairspray at the local theater in Titusville (followed by fabulous Mexican food!), spending an unforgettable day exploring Kennedy Space Center, and zipping through the wetlands on an airboat ride surrounded by enormous alligators. A leisurely afternoon in Cocoa Village brought colorful shops, local artists, and plenty of small-town charm. In between it all, we talked, laughed, made hats, painted ducks, and created the kind of memories—and new friendships—that will stay with us long after the sand is gone from our shoes. It was fun, relaxing, adventurous, and exactly the kind of trip that leaves your heart full.
